Onychocryptosis (ingrowing nail) is a common and painful foot condition, generally observed in adolescents and young adults, with male predominance.1 The lateral side of the great toe is the most often affected site.Phenolization of nail matrix has been considered the most effective technique for definitive treatment of this condition, with previous studies showing lower recurrence rates than surgical matricectomy.
