Mixed skin ulcers misdiagnosed as pyoderma gangrenosum and rheumatoid ulcer: successful treatment with ultrasound-guided injection of polidocanol microfoam.

Venous stasis ulcers are the most common cause of ulceration of the legs. Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) may develop at the sites of chronic venous leg ulcers, although this event is rarely described in the medical literature. PG should be suspected in susceptible patients whose venous leg ulcers undergo inexplicable and painful deterioration. PG misdiagnosed as vascular ulcers has also been reported.
