A change of date for the British Holstein Society's Autumn Show at Bingley Hall, Staffordshire, failed to attract any more spectators than last year, even though the quality of the stock on show matched anything to be seen anywhere in the country. Thepoor attendance of spectators at the second Autumn Holstein Show could well sign the fate of the fledgling event if trade stand holders decide it is not worth returning next year. The lack of visitors at the first show was attributed to atrocious weather conditions across much of the country, but this year, with excellent weather on the day - and during the summer allowing harvests to be finished in record time - many of the trade exhibitors reported numbers as less than 1994.
