The recent launch by NMR of crossbred ancestry and performance certificates has given milk producers an additional tool to help them when crossing two or more different breeds. A pie chart on the certificate showing the proportion of each breed in theanimal's pedigree is said to be particularly useful for farmers considering which breed to use next on the crossbred animal. The launch is said by Jonathan Davies of NMR to recognise the importance of cross-breeding in the UK and add value to crossbredanimals.
