Research scientists have developed what is claimed to be the first fast and cost effective method to predict the nutrient content of manures, slurries and biosolids. The new testing service was introduced to farmers at this year's Grassland and Muck event at Stoneleigh, and it is hoped to have the first users signed up in the coming weeks. The innovation is the result of work undertaken as part of a three-year Defra-funded LINK project conducted jointly by ADAS and Eurofins (the feed testing laboratory), and with the backing of other industry bodies including DairyCo and IGER North Wyke.
