While recent milk price increases look like restoring some profitability, nevertheless costs are rising and soaking up a large part of that higher revenue. Richard King from Andersons Business Consultants gives us his predictions for the next couple of years.Fortunately the prospectsfor 2012-13 do look a little brighter than we have been seeing in the past few years, but this relies on the market delivering further price increases and costs abating.These are the figures we are finding from our own model farm - Friesian Farm - and which are updated annually. Our Friesian Farm is a notional 100-hectare (247-acre) holding in the Midlands running 150 cows on a liquid milk contract.
