According to nutritionist Bruce Woodacre rumen health is the key to optimising milk production from forage and the time has come to take a fresh look at how maize silage is analysed. Recent work done on behalf of David Bright has identified some major differences in the way that maize silage starch is digested in the rumen, and these differences appear to be related to the variety of maize grown.
