Efficient [bis(imino)pyridine-iron]-catalyzed oxidation of alkanes

摘要

A [bis(imino)pyridine-iron(n)] complex efficiently catalyses the oxidation of C_(sp~3)-H bonds by dihydrogen peroxide,through the attack of the alkyl substrate by hydroxyl radicals.The catalytic oxidation of alkanes is a major challenge in modern chemistry.Indeed,alkanes represent the main component of natural gas,and are therefore a potential source of valuable products through their functionalization.
