Pickens Is Bullish On U.S.-Canada Relationship, Bearish On Alaskan Pipeline

The Canada-United States relationship regarding energy and climate issues will grow in strength while crude and natural gas prices will be on the upswing in 2010, iconic Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens told a Calgary business crowd Wednesday. However, the 81-year-old Pickens was less optimistic about the future of the proposed Alaskan natural gas pipeline to be built by TransCanada Corp. and partner ExxonMobil Corp., saying the $26 billion project "doesn't make sense" given the explosion of production coming out of some U.S. shale plays.
