A sharp 14.5% decline in natural gas export volumes along with much lower prices for both oil and natural gas slashed Canadian oil and gas export revenues by a massive $22.73 billion in the first six months of 2009, according to Bulletin calculations.Prices for both oil and natural gas were at unusual highs in the first half of 2008 which magnifies this year's export revenue decline.Oil and gas export revenues - a major contributor to Canada's balance of trade performance - plunged to only $25.63 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2009 from a record $48.36 billion a year earlier.
