The e-data imperative: enabling e-business with infrastructure agility

THE QUICK AND EASY MOVEMENT OF data within an enterprise's value chain is rapidly becoming an imperative for effectively and more completely enabling e-business strategies, strategies that are radically altering the way most companies work. To better compete if not survive, businesses have been deploying everything from packaged ERP solutions to customer relationship management and sales automation systems, from business intelligence intranets to extra-net "portals." With the proliferation of new business systems coupled with the tremendous push to leverage the Internet-information technology and data have been interwoven into the fabric of most business processes.
