The ammonium sesquicarbonate monohydrate (NH4)(4)[H-2(CO3)(3)] . H2O is obtained from the reaction of hexamethyldisilazane with carbon dioxide in tetrahydrofuran in the presence of water. The structure of (NH4)(4)[H-2(CO3)(3)] . H2O has been deten-nined by X-ray crystal structure analysis. [References: 11]
