摘要

According to the Recommendations of the 21th Session of ICUMSA, Subject 5, "Dry Substance", three collaborative tests were carried out using the Faviell method of "Modern Karl Fischer titration" for moisture determination (described in an Appendix):cane and beet molasses were analysed in 2 of the tests, and cane raw sugar in the third. 10 samples of each product were analysed by 8 laboratories and the relevant results were evaluated according to the IUPAC and AOAC procedures adopted by ICUMSA in 1990. Statistical analysis of data showed that the method should be acceptable as an Official ICUMSA method for the analysis of both cane and beet molasses but not raw sugars.
