摘要

Fluidized catalytic cracking units (FCCUs) are the moneymakers. These units convert low-cost heavy distillates into higher-valued gasoline and naphtha. FCCUs utilize complex processes that combine catalytic chemical reactions and fractionating. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and near infrared (NIR) process analyzers are highly effective in quantifying physical properties in hydrocarbons, especially where the feedstock, intermediate and final product streams are all interlinked. Correlation between these hydrocarbon streams forms the keystone to full optimization of the catalytic cracking and fractionating, thus increasing profitability.
