The hydrocarbon processing industry (HPI) continues to expand to meet increasing demand for energy, transportation fuels, and petrochemical-based consumer products. As confirmed by HP's HPI Market Data 201S forecast, numerous construction projects are under various stages of development for the refining, petrochemical and gas pro-cessing/LNG industries. According to HP's Construction Boxscore Database, over 2,648 announced projects are being considered by HPI companies, with an estimated $1,144 trillion in capital investment over the next few years. The majority of the construction projects are located in Asia Pacific (AP) and the Middle East (ME). What have changed significantly over recent times are the location, scale and management of HPI construction projects.
