Straits Resources Drilling Programme boosts Sebuku Coal Resource by 49 percent to 24.9 Million Tonnes

Straits Resources Limited has announced a substantial increase in resources at the Sebuku coal mine in Indonesia (see Table 1) following success with the current drilling programme. As a result, total resources at Sebuku have increased from 18 million tonnes at 31 December 2004 to 24.9 million tonnes as at 30 July 2005. Taking depletion during 2005 into account, total resources have increased by some 8.8 million tonnes or 49 percent. Straits' Chief Executive Officer, Mr Milan Jerkovic, said that the resource upgrade at Sebuku was very significant, extending the life of mine (LOM) by approximately 3 years to 7-8 years at today's production rates.
