Developing and Building Oil Refineries to Meet Increasing Demands - Opportunities and Challenges

Iran is one of OPEC's most important producers. It is thus a bit ironical that they are importing large quantities of gasoline and diesel. One way to address this situation is to upgrade existing refineries or build new refineries to increase Iran's production capabilities. However there are various obstacles standing in the way. This article outlines possibilities and challenges facing these options.
