USVL048 and USVL131 are doubled haploid inbred lines of heading broccoli from South Carolina, USA, that were selected for having high-quality heads. USVL048 was derived from the anther culture of the commercial hybrid Marathon. USVL131 was regenerated from the anther culture of a hybrid formed by crossing a doubled haploid line derived from cv. Viking with a doubled haploid line derived from cv. Everest. Both lines, which were released in 2012, can be readily crossed with other broccoli inbreds to develop new hybrid combinations for direct use or for generating new segregating populations.
