摘要

Parks and green spaces are facing a crisis just as their value is being rediscovered. New research has found that parks professionals are "a dying breed".The report, published on 1 September by CASE Space, recommends the Government makes green space skills a key part of the national skills strategy to deliver sustainable communities. This is based on the Egan review, published by the Government in April to set out the skills needed to develop sustainability. The Egan Review followed the deputy prime minister's £22 billion Sustainable Communities Plan, published in February 2003 to highlight the need for the right people with the right skills in the right place to deliver the Government's action programme.
