Caryopteris are a small genus of deciduous flowering shrubs and herbaceous perennials that originate from East Asia, the Himalayas and Japan. The shrubs produce a mass of flowers in shades of blue with attractive grey/green leaves.The flowers are formed in compact axillary clusters in late summer and autumn. The shrubs have the added bonus of aromatic leaves. Caryopteris are an excellent choice as a border-edge shrub or single-lined display.
