This is really scary. A lot of groundsmen are still using lime in their marking out. Some are using diesel. Some are still using creosote. And I don't know what is needed to get the message across. A number of high-profile court cases have now been brought by players who have taken sliding tackles across a line and ended up blinded by lime or poisoned by toxic or noxious substances. Players have been seriously injured or disabled. Clubs have had to pay compensation - in some cases a lot of compensation.
