Utilization of informatic instruments for operation and management of production in iron and steel industry

In last years one can see a violent development of methods and programs of computer simulation of manufacturing processes and introduction into metallurgical plants information systems allowing production management, vizualization of manufacturing process, network information transfer a.s.o. Conventional collection of rich information resources in from of standards, catalogues of goods, control cards a.s.o. are in regard to difficult searching and accessibility of detailed information slightly utilized. Dynamic development of computer networks and multimedial techniques watched in last time provide technical agents for transfer and presentation of these resources. It is necessary to from systems which put into practice integration functions of informations in order to make use of them for real decision or consulting tasks. Therefore it is necessary to educate suitable technical staff for servicing information systems. Activity of workers of industrial computer science plant of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Faculty at Mining a. Metallurgical Academy in order to complete technological and personnel gap was presented. Problems connected with production management, computer aided forming of new process engineering, forecasting properties of products and quality inspection during manufacturing process were shown.
