Fasteners of bainitic steels manufactured by drawing and forging

Modelling techniaues, capable of solving various problems occurring in industrial metal forming processes, are used in this paper to simulate the entire chain of manufacturing of connecting parts. The objective of simulations is assessment of possibility of introduction of new steel with higher strength than conventional grades. DP steel and new generation bainitic steel are considered. Seauence com-posed of hot rolling, drawing, cold forging and cutting is analyzed. Particular attention is put on the drawing, as a process which Controls the properties of the final product. Selected results of numerical simulation are presented and discussed.
