Alternative methods of productivity increasing at MAG welding process of unalloyed steels

Selected issues related to the realization of European project "Economically welding in a healthy way" has been presented. Attention was paid to the fact, that increasing competitiveness in welding industry and threads of shifting welded construction production to the East forces the necessity of welding cost decreasing and searching for alternative to traditional MAG new welding methods. This article describes briefly the principles of different alternative technologies such as: TANDEM, TIME, Rapid Arc, Rapid Melt and hybrid welding. It gives also simple guidelines, which technology can be utilized in particular industrial applications. In this report the limitations of each technology are also described.
