A5 9-year-old man presented to the eye clinic with a history of blunt injury to his right eye, caused by a can of Coke being thrown at him. He complained of slight eye discomfort and blurred vision. Apart from reduced visual acuity and mild conjunctival injection, the initial eye examination was thought to be norrnal (Figure 1). However, pupillary dilatation revealed an inferior dislocation of the lens {Figure 2). The causes of ectopia lentis (lens dislocation), in addition to trauma, include high myopia, uveal tumours, homo-cystinuria, and Marfan, Ehlers-Danlos and Weill-Marchesani syndromes (Nelson and Maumenee, 1982; Kanski, 2003).
