Dust-gas emission in iron- and steelmaking industry

This article presents the problem of emission of dust and gases in both the metallurgical production cycle of iron and steel, as well as with regard to manufacture of coke. The figures include the minimum and maximum amounts of particulate dust and gas emissions generated by the domestic iron and steel industry, as well as the European Union. The results of the emission of dust and gases in one of the Swedish metallurgical plant, with known high standards for the protection of the environment, are presented, too.
