We no longer can be single-focused. Instead, we must diversify our skills to perform a multitude of tasks. The same can be said of our control systems. In today's business environment, the phrases, "Work smarter, not harder," and, "Do more with less," are very familiar. As employees of our respective organizations, we no longer can be single-focused. Instead, we must diversify our skills to perform a multitude of tasks. The same can be said of our control systems. Building owners no longer want systems that perform only one function, with each system requiring its own network cabling, PC, and operator-workstation software. Instead, they want systems that-like their operators-"multitask."
