SpeedNews Industry Suppliers Conference forecasts strong aviation growth

HPC attended the recent 20th Annual Aviation Industry Suppliers Conference, held in Beverly Hills, Calif, on March 13-15. Sponsored by long-standing aviation newsletter publisher SpeedNews (Los Angeles, Calif.), the event attracted major aviation and aerospace company representatives from 195 companies in 11 countries to share their industry forecasts for 2006 and beyond. Conference speakers ranged from executives of aircraft manufacturers Airbus Industrie (Toulouse, France) and The Boeing Co. (Chicago, III.) to jet engine manufacturers, airline analysts and leasing company representatives - all with a take on their sectors' health. Conference organizer Gilbert Speed opened the conclave with an address in which he characterized the aviation industry as "forever cyclical." Despite financial shakiness within legacy airlines, Speed's take was that aviation is definitely on the upswing.
