Thermal Analysis of a High-Speed Solid-Rotor Induction Motor with a Slitted Solid-Rotor

摘要

A lumped parameter thermal model for a gas cooled, high-speed solid-rotor induction motor with axially slitted rotor structure is presented. The model utilizes T-equivalent circuits as elementary components to model different parts of the machine. The model takes into account the heat transfer both in axial and radial directions of the motor. Furthermore, the heating of the cooling fluid is taken into account in the modeling by means of an additional cooling-matrix which is added to the thermal conductance matrix. In the analysis the motor geometry was divided into 14 parts where the thermal resistances as well as different loss components, i.e. electromagnetic, gas flow and friction losses were computed. The evaluation of different loss components is discussed in detail. The performance of the model was verified by comparing calculated results with the values obtained from the measurements.
