As the latest addition to Melbourne's ever-expanding metropolitan freeway network, the Craigieburn Bypass section of the Hume Freeway is not only helping to improve traffic flows and road safety throughout Melbourne's outer-northern suburbs, it also looks set to change the face of metropolitan freeway design in Australia. Whilst the majority of freeways and major arterial road projects throughout Australia now incorporate architectural features such as sound attenuation walls as part of their overall design, the Craigieburn Bypass has been designed with a focus on elevating these features to what can only be described as 'the next level'.
