I AM continually fascinated by the dairy industry. I am privileged to work every day with men and women who manage all the aspects of dairy farming to generate the income they need. It is also true that some of these herds are struggling to survive. Why do some succeed while others do not? A large part of the difference is what I call "mindset." I use that term to describe how people think about their business and their life. I have observed over the years that those who are successful are focused on things they can do to reach their goals. Of course, this means that they have identified some goals, and are actively working to attain them.
