Investigations were undertaken at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, to study the effect of organic (FYM) and inorganic sources (urea, CAN) of nitrogen on yield and quality of Bajra-Napier hybrid grass [Pennisetum glaucum X P. purpureum]. Tiller numbers and dry matter yield were increased by joint application of 75 kg N ha-1 as urea with 2.5 t of FYM ha-1. Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) gave a higher percentage crude protein, whereas crude protein yield was maximum when 75 kg N ha-1 was applied as urea with 2.5 t FYM ha-1. Foliar spraying of molybdenum had no influence on the growth and yield, but it increased crude protein yield.
