摘要

The material consisting of fifty genotypes was grown in the Faculty of Agriculture, Annamalai University, Annamalainagar during June, 1996. The crop was raised in Randomised Block Design with three replications. The plot size was 1.8 X 4.0 m with 45 X 15 cm spacing. Ten plants were selected randomly for each entry for recording data on nine characters. The characters were plant height, number of primary, branches, number of clusters per plant, number of pods per plant, length of the pod, number of seeds per pod, 100 - seed weight, yield per plant and days to 50 per cent flowering. The data were subjected to analysis of variance and multivariate analysis of D~2 statistic. The genotypes were grouped into different clusters following Tocher's method. The relative contribution of different characters towards genetic divergence was also worked out.
