Using our census

On 9 August most of us had a common task: completing the Census of Population and Housing. It was an anniversary of sorts: the first nationally coordinated census was in 1911, although it wasn't done five-yearly until 50 years Later. The very first census in Australia was in 1828 in New South Wales, and we had censuses as part of the British Empire in 1881 and 1901.
