摘要

A new plasma shaft furnace for thermal plasma processing and vitrification of solid toxic waste is developed and investigated. Complex theoretical studies on its operation conditions are carried out. Numerical analysis and calculations have shown that waste plasma processing in the shaft furnace proposed is characterized by the acceptable energy consumption, significantly smaller length of the operating zone, and a low volume of flue gases compared to fuel furnaces, and good possibility for aerosols absorption by the bulk waste charged in the furnace shaft, compared to batch or rotary processes.
