Living and dying well: amy berman leads by example.

It was truly inspiring to read the personal journey of our friend and colleague, Amy Berman, as she encountered a health care system focused on curing rather than caring (Apr 2012). Amy's story is unique in some ways, yet all too familiar in others. It is unique because she is young enough that most physicians would probably assume she would elect aggressive treatment for breast cancer. And Amy's story is unique because she was able to find a physician willing to support her wish to receive only palliative treatment.
