摘要

This review of the property improvements facilitated by salt-bath nitrocarburising includes a description of newer Tufftride process variants such as low- and high-temperature treatments and two-step nitrocarburising. A major essential for rapid development in many sectors of modern technology is the choice of suitable materials which meet the growing need for higher-loadability components. Ferrous materials, such as steel, sintered iron and cast iron, meet this requirement; their physical and chemical properties can be influenced or improved by their composition and a carefully-selected heat treatment.
