The effect of secondary flows on the curtain cooling of the end wall of a turbine grid with a discrete injection at the inlet

Consideration is given to the effect of secondary flows on the curtain cooling of the end wall behind a row of holes at the inlet to a plane turbine grid. The effect of secondary flows is shown to take place for injection parameters below unity. For injection parameters above unity, a predictive method for the curtain cooling efficiency, averaged across the flow, is proposed.
