A forklift truck collision in which a farm manager was killed has cost his employer, Lincolnshire Field Products (LFP), more than ?200,000 in penalties. Peter Barney sustained fatal injuries at Middle Farm near Spalding, where LFP grades and stores potatoes, when he was hit by the truck while walking across the yard in October 2010. HSE inspector Neil Ward said Barney was working with six agency staff on the potato grader inside the grading shed when they ran short of labels for the potatoes.
