The Social Action, Responsi-bility and Heroism Act (SARAH), which the government hopes will challenge perceptions of the UK's "compensation culture", became law on 12 February after receiving royal assent. When the legislation was announced in 2014, justice secretary Chris Grayling said he hoped SARAH would "slay much of the 'elf and safety' and jobsworth culture that holds back so much of our society".
