A metal fabricator has been fined 135,000 pounds after one of its employees was killed when a connection porch on a subsea valve fell onto him. The firm knew workers sometimes had to remove the porch's securing plates, risking it toppling, but did not ask its designer to fix the problem. Tain Sheriff Court fined JPR Fabrication after the company pleaded guilty to breaching Section 2(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
