HSW Act self employed exemption plans are flawed, say consultees

More than 60% of respondents to the HSE's consultation on plans to exempt many self employed people from the Health and Safety at Work (HSW) Act think sole traders will be unsure whether the law applies to them. Organisations including the TUC, employers' body the Confederation of British Industry, local authorities, and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health all expressed misgivings.
