摘要

ELECTRICAL contractor MITIE Engineering Services (Edinburgh) has been fined 300,000 pounds over the death of a 26-year-old employee who was electrocuted while working on a cable that had been labelled "not in use". In August 2005, electrician Michael Adamson was installing cables and fittings at the site of a new JJB sports centre on the Gallagher Retail Park in Dundee, which was due to open the next day. He was electrocuted when he came into contact with a conductor in a still live cable. Adamson's colleague, James Kelly, said they had been pulling cables along a false ceiling. Kelly had been holding the bottom of Adamson's ladder when he saw his arm touch a wire. Kelly shouted but wasn't sure Adamson heard him over the noise of the speaker system, which was being tested.
