75 000 pounds fines for scaffolding firm after fall from height death

FINES TOTALLING 75 000 pounds have been imposed on one of UK's largest steel erection companies, William Hare Limited, following the death of an employee. Brian Knights-a steel erector employed by William Hare Limited-was killed on 2 April 1998 when he fell from the steelwork of a new extension being constructed at the Imperial War Museum, London. Richard Bartram, another steel erector, also fell in the same incident but landed on the decked-out floor below and escaped serious injury.
