The environmental safety of Russia's Far Eastern seas

Our journal has more than once stressed the necessity of the socioeconomic development of the Russian Far East. One of the most important components of this task is the preservation of the natural-resource potential of the region, which currently suffers a double impact: both changes in global climate and human activity, which will additionally increase in the future, contribute much to the environmental situation. One of the RAS Presidium meetings was devoted to the discussion of this problem. The paper heard at the meeting is published below.
