HSE launches revised transport guidance

THE Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has updated its employers' guide to workplace transport safety. Aimed mainly at managers and supervisors, the revised guidance provides advice on all aspects of transport at work. It is also designed to be useful to safety and union representatives, contractors, self-employed people and all vehicle operators. Launching the booklet, Carol Grainger, head of the HSE's Workplace Transport Team, reminded employers that transport is the second highest cause of incidents in the workplace, accounting for about 70 fatalities every year.
