PetroChina Earnings Up, Sinopec's Down

Chinese state oil company PetroChina reported recently third quarter earnings of RMB 39.9 billion (U.S. $5.8 billion), up 30% from the same quarter 2007.The company earned RMB 93.5 billion (U.S. $13.7 billion) in the first nine months of the year, down 17% from the first three quarters of 2007.
