Imperial Oil Partially Restarts Nanticoke Refinery

Canada's Imperial Oil announced Feb. 28 that it has partially restarted its Nanticoke refinery in Ontario, and expects it to return to normal operations by the middle of the month. The shutdown of the refinery as a result of a recent fire has contributed to a fuel shortage in Ontario, leading the Ontario Trucking Association in late February to ask the Canadian government to temporarily allow off-road diesel fuel to be used in trucks.
