High gasoline prices trimmed end-user demand in 2005, and according to the American Petroleum Institute (API), which pegged U.S. gasoline demand growth at a mere 0.4% last year. That compares with the previous three years, when gasoline demand grew 2% annually, API said in its December Monthly Statistical Report, with data for the full year.
