摘要

The toolbox is pretty impressive. Decades of development have resulted in fluids and proppant combinations for almost every application. Along with attendant breaker systems and additives, these systems provide a multitude of options for just about any reservoir condition. Today, choosing the best treatment for the application often is more challenging than lack of a particular tool. That does not mean things have come to a fat and happy standstill - far from it. Innovative synthetic proppants and new investigation into the conductivity and quality of traditional white sand characterizes prop-pant development. Fluids science, after decades of focus on linear and cross-linked systems, is exploring low-polymer and no-polymer systems with impressive results (see Fracture Lite on page 11).
